Final Report

The final report for the Wren includes an in depth redesign of the residential levels
replacing the post tension flat plate and column system with load bearing walls and floor deck
made of cross laminated timber. The new loads from the residential levels will be distributed to the
existing column grid on the ground level via a post-tensioned transfer slab making up the floor of
the second story, the design for this transfer slab is included in this report as well. There will also be an investigation into some of the effects that the alternative design has on the acoustics of the apartments and on the construction process.
